Do's And Don'ts - Using Belt Buckle Collars Instead Of Clip Collars

We strongly advise the use of standard belt buckle clip collars instead of the common plastic or even metal clip collars. The 2 different types of collars are shown in the video above. The reason for this is simple. Belt buckle collars are MUCH safer when it comes to staying fastened on your dog.

The belt buckle is much less likely to come undone under most circumstances and so you don't have to worry about your dog possibly getting loose while being leash walked or guided from one place to another.

The clips on a clip collar are prone to loosen, bend or break, making them less likely to stay secured and much more likely to come undone, which is very inconvenient at the least, and extremely dangerous, maybe even fatal at worst. We have heard many horror stories about dogs that had gotten out of a clip collar that was not securely fastened and ran away or ran into a busy street..

Often times dogs while playing will grab onto another dogs collar and easily push a clip "button" or bite into the plastic clip, making it come undone. If you have ever came outside while your dogs were playing and wondered why one of their collars were off, this situation is likely the reason. Push button clips and plastic clips are extremely unreliable when it comes to staying securely around your dogs neck and for these reasons, we urge you to stay with the simple, old fashioned belt buckle collars to keep your dogs safer!
